A workshop on taking personal action on Climate Change

Many people are worried about climate change, but only a small percentage moves from worry to taking personal action. What are the reasons that changing your lifestyle is so difficult? Why do we often avoid the topic when we talk with our friends, families and colleagues? Klimaatgesprekken offers fun and practical workshops that support people to explore their own carbon footprints, their climate dilemma’s and opportunities for change.

In this tailor-made workshop we will provide a preview of our workshops and our approach. In short interactive sessions you will learn more about carbon emissions of certain activities and what you can do in your own life. We will also practice the secrets to talking about climate change to make conversations about climate change more effective and more fun! Good for you & good for your organization!

Anneke Wensing
Anneke Wensing is a psychologist by background, but spent most of her career working in international development cooperation. Frequent trips to developing countries opened her eyes to the effects of climate change on the least developed countries that have little means to adapt. Eventually this made her decide to stop flying completely and significantly reduce her own carbon footprint. In 2016 she became a member of the board of KlimaatGesprekken and helped building the organisation from the start. Her main tasks are the development of our training materials, fundraising, facilitating KlimaatGesprekken workshops for different audiences and supporting other volunteers in their work.
Eric Spies
Eric Spies has a background in sustainable area development and he is the chairman of the board of the foundation KlimaatGesprekken. Themes as participation and sustainability are of great importance in his career. Eric has gone more deeply into climate psychology out of astonishment that we as people are so slowly taking action on such a big task as climate change. Last year he met KlimaatGesprekken and they asked him to become key-note speaker and chairman
