Are you interested in starting or scaling up your own business? Would you like to hear a success story with insights by an inspiring entrepreneur? Please join the upcoming KIE session about growing an online business. Matteo Manferdini is the CEO of Pure Creek and he is going to give an interactive presentation about his entrepreneurship journey with useful tips. His speech will be followed by a Q&A and the event will be finalised by networking drinks and snacks to connect with each other.

Abstract of the presentation

Starting a business can be a hard and risky task. Statistics are clear: 90% of new businesses fail. This might not come as a surprise to those who know the Pareto Principle, but there is a less-known and much more surprising statistic: 90% of businesses started by people who know what they are doing succeed.

The good news is that you don't have to learn those lessons all by yourself. There are people who treaded that path already and are now sharing their knowledge. And for the technically minded, it can all be turned into a reliable process you can follow from start to finish. Your business can work as a well oiled machine, where turning the right knobs and pulling the right levers can predictably increase revenue. All starting from the knowledge and skills you already possess.

Background of the speaker

Matteo Manferdini is the CEO of Pure Creek, a company focused on training beginning and advanced iOS developers online. The business has grown from scratch to six figures in sales yearly, without any external investment.

In the two decades leading to today's business, Matteo got a BSc in Computer Science in 2004 and a MSc in Computational Logic in 2008. He then worked as a software developer until 2011 in several companies in Italy and Amsterdam. Here he was, for two years, a founding member of Appsterdam, a non-profit organization providing education and networking events to app developers. In the following years Matteo worked as a freelance developer for several clients in Amsterdam.

Since graduation, Matteo has attempted to start several businesses in the software field. Then, after learning the ropes of starting and growing a business from Ramit Sethi and Jay Abraham, Matteo started the current business in 2015 and helped others do the same.

Driven by his passion for learning, in his spare time, he practiced three martial arts, sang in several semi-professional choirs in his hometown, and founded a theater company where he won a prize as best non-leading actor. He now dances and teaches tango in Amsterdam. He speaks four languages.
