Event Report: KIE Innovation & Space 2018

KIVI International Engineers organized the “Innovation & Space” event on 31st of October 2018. Speakers were selected from two young and dynamic start-ups and one of the biggest and established space companies to observe different approaches in innovation technologies. Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session to enable interactive and enthusiastic discussions between the audience and speakers.

First presentation was given by Jerre Sweers from Stellar Space Industries with an introduction about the company, their team and current activities followed by a talk over Moon Rover project.

Second presentation was given by Henk Cruijssen from Airbus Defense & Systems Netherlands (ADS NL). He is a Systems Engineer at Innovation & Technology Development team and a passionate private pilot at Rotterdam at the RAC. During his presentation, he highlighted developments in technology & innovation for the relevant product groups and also mentioned the changes about space and what that means to their innovation.

Third presentation was given by Jeroen Wink from Dawn Aerospace. He made an inspiring presentation about development of reusable and responsive launch vehicles and rocket powered UAV for responsive access to space.

There were 55 participants from diverse backgrounds and they were very enthusiastic about the presentations. The event was finalized with a networking cocktail where the audience could ask further questions to speakers and connect with each other in a pleasant atmosphere.
