Cross-border collaboration to work on climate goals
Eleven multinationals in the region South-West Netherlands and East-Flanders work together to accomplish a reduction in CO2-emission. In a project called Smart Delta Resources, companies in food, steel, chemicals and energy industry are exchanging materials and rest streams to enhance efficiency and reduce emission to be able to make the Paris goals.

Chemport Europe working on Paris climate goals
As stated in the VNCI roadmap, it is technically possible to reduce emissions by 80-95% by 2050. The real challenge lies in the finances, organization and cooperation to achieve this goal. The clusters, Chemport Emmen and -Delfzijl offer opportunities. In both clusters we are already working hard on the development of concrete plans.

Agreement for Zeeland hydrogen roundabout
DOW and Yara have signed a contract to utilize and old gas pipeline to transport hydrogen. This transport has to replace the transport by trucks as it currently occurs between both companies. Using the pipeline should reduce the energy consumption by about 0.15 petajoule annually. Also a reduction in CO2-emission of about 10,000 ton per year is expected.

Waste to chemistry in Rotterdam
Signing a development agreement starts the project of building a waste to chemistry plant in Rotterdam that has to transform 360.000 ton of mixed waste into 220.000 ton of methanol.
