5Groningen and ESA

In 2018 5Groningen started a close collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) unit Business Applications (BA). Both parties are testing together how 5G and satellite information can complement and reinforce each other.

Speakers:

Firstly, Olivier Becu from ESA will talk about satellites, 5G and the opportunities for business.  What are the possibilities and what is ESA working on?  After that two entrepreneurs will tell about their experience with use cases they did in cooperation with ESA.

Ivo Bartelink from ACS Climotion will tell about the 5G-pilot Space for buildings. Space For Buildings is a feasibility study by ACS and KNMI with cooperation of ESA. In this study they investigate if they can use satellite-data from the ESA sentinel program to reduce pollution levels(especially pm2.5) in buildings.

Next to that Joris IJsselmuiden form Track 32 will be there to talk about the 5G-pilot Quantified Farm. Quantified Farm was about using satellite imagery and 5G networking for precision farming. Joris also will give us an insight about other uses of Artificial Intelligence and computer vision in agriculture.

This masterclass will be closed with drinks and the opportunity of a network event.
