Towards 2050 the world population increases from 7.3 billion to 9 billion people around the world. While the more developed regions in the world already consume large amounts of animal derived proteins. The poor regions are going to follow this behaviour when there is more wealth available.
This is where WurmpieWurmpie is developing alternative solutions, ranging from zero- waste rearing to carbon capture. All the proteins are intended for direct human consumption. The big challenge is how to tackle the cultural aversion of insects in human diets?
