Content of the Master Class

Personal and intimate technologies provide new opportunities for data collection and for sharing this data. Moreover, with the rise of AI and Data Science such technologies increasingly take decisions on our behalf on which data to collect and who to share it with. This comes with the risk of violating important human values such as privacy and responsibility. In this masterclass we present philosophical and psychological background, a design approach, and software models for making the data sharing part of these technologies more flexible in accommodating our norms and values. We call this responsible data sharing. It forms a complement to data analytics and provides an important building block for creating technology that partners with us, rather than controlling us.
