Dr. Engr. Awais Ahmed wins the 2015 Biezeno Award for his PhD thesis in Solid Mechanics
The winner of the "Biezeno Award for Solid Mechanics" for 2015 is: Dr. Engr. Awais Ahmed. He got this award due to his outstanding PhD research.
His PhD thesis is named: ‘Computational modelling of progressive failure in FRP composite laminates subjected to static and impact transverse loading'.
His thesis supervisor was Professor Bert Sluys and his research was done in the department of Structural Engineering of the Delft University of Technology.
The Biezeno Award will be awarded to Dr. Engr. Awais Ahmed at the 18th Engineering Mechanics symposium, which will take place on the 27 and 28 of Oktober (2015) in Papendal.
