Let’s say you’re a group of citizens who wants to live sustainably and are building your own village. With what materials would you construct your houses? How would you lock in carbon? How would you cater to food, water and energy needs? Which technology would you apply and how? How would you ensure that no waste is created and that building materials can be reused with high quality? How would you make your neighbourhood look beautiful? These are questions we are trying to answer at Ecodorp Boekel.
We’ve found a wide range of exciting solutions and possibilities which we are eager to present to you tonight. Our task now is to cleverly integrate the techniques and materials we’ve identified. We’re entering an exciting phase, as we’re just beginning to tackle the more detailed, practical challenges at hand. We’re wondering if students, engineers, designers and artists are interested in collaborating.
If you’re ambitious and like working with forward-thinking individuals and organisations, then besides attending an interesting presentation, you might identify some interesting opportunities for you.
