I live on the same address as another KIVI member. Am I eligible for a discount on my membership fee?

Yes, if you live with another member at the same address and you want to receive only one copy of De Ingenieur together with that member, you are eligible for a discount of € 85,00 on the membership fee of one of you. Payments

To which bank account should I transfer the KIVI membership fee?

Please transfer the membership fee to IBAN: NL69 INGB 0005 0965 16. The name of the account owner is “KIVI”.

I didn’t receive any invoice per post, but I’m a KIVI member.

KIVI members whose e-mail address is known to us will receive the invoice by e-mail.

Why do I receive the invoice per e-mail?

Since a few years now, KIVI sends its members a cost specification of the membership fee per e-mail. To members who have indicated to prefer an invoice in writing, the invoice will be send by post. If a specific invoice address is known to us, the invoice will also be send by post. If you prefer a paper bill, we kindly ask you to inform us by sending an e-mail to the member administration at ledenadministratie@kivi.nl. Please note that from 2021 onwards, KIVI calculates a contribution to the costs of € 2.50 for sending a paper invoice.

Is it possible to receive an invoice including VAT?

Unfortunately this is not possible. The KIVI membership is exempt of VAT.

Preauthorized debit

Is it possible to pay the membership fee by direct debit?

Of course that’s possible, but only from a Dutch bank account. KIVI even encourages you to pay by direct debit. This way you are always paying on time and we avoid additional reminder costs. Your direct debit will save us a lot of time, which we prefer to put in other member services.

Download the authorization form and send it to the KIVI membership administration by email: ledenadministratie@kivi.nl or to:

KIVI
Attn. member administration
P.O. Box 30424
2500 GK The Hague
The Netherlands

After issuing the authorization, KIVI will collect your contribution due 25 January of the new contribution year. For new members, the contribution will be collected no later than one month after the registration. Do you disagree with the direct debit? It’s possible to undo this charge within 30 days. Shortly before the beginning of a new contribution year, you will also receive a cost specification of your membership fee.

When will the preauthorized debit be collected?

The preauthorized debit will be collected around 25 January.

Is it possible to pay the membership fee by monthly preauthorized debits?

The membership fee is collected just once a year.

Invoice / Payment reminder / double payment

I recently received an invoice on the membership fee. I now received a second invoice. What shall I do?

KIVI determines your membership fee per calendar year. Let’s say you have become a member during this current year. This means that your contribution will be determined proportionally (for example, if you became a member in August, only September to December of the year will be charged). In November, the contribution for the following year will be determined. Each member will receive a new contribution invoice. For this example this would mean that you could receive two membership invoices shortly after each other.

I received a payment reminder, though I have already paid the membership fee.

Please send your proof of payment by e-mail to the KIVI member administration at ledenadministratie@kivi.nl.

I accidentally paid the membership fee twice. How can I get my money back?

If you accidentally paid your membership fee twice, then KIVI will refund the payment automatically to your bank account. This takes up to 4 weeks. Do you have any further questions on this topic? Please contact the financial administration via financieleadministratie@kivi.nl.

Membership of a section

What are the costs of the membership of a section?

Membership of two sections is included in the KIVI membership fee. Would you like to join more sections, that’s possible. We’ll charge € 2.50 per additional section.

I would like to become a member of (another) section. What do I need to do?

Please log on to www.kivi.nl by using your personal login data. Navigate to your profile and adjust your membership details under “afdelingslidmaatschap”.

Resigning / transferring membership

How can I resign my membership?

Would you like to quit your membership at KIVI? Please resign in writing by sending an e-mail or letter before 1 December to the member administration. Resigning is only possible per calendar year. After receiving your resignation in writing and eventually membership fees still to be paid, you’ll receive a confirmation stating the end date of your membership at KIVI.

Please note: When resigning after 1 December of the current year, you are bound to pay the membership fee for the whole next calendar year and your membership ends at the end of the next calendar year.

Please resign by sending an e-mail or letter (no stamp needed) mentioning your membership number and reason for resigning to:
ledenadministratie@kivi.nl or to

KIVI
Attn. member administration
P.O. Box 30424
2500 GK The Hague

Is it possible to have someone else, such as my employer, resign my membership?

A KIVI membership is personal. In general, it can only be canceled by you. The only exception is a cooperative or collective membership via your company. In this case your membership at KIVI will end when you leave your company or when your employer decides to cancel the corporate membership.

I am going to leave my employer. Is it possible to transfer my membership to a colleague?

A KIVI membership is personal, unfortunately it’s not possible to transfer your membership to one of your colleagues. But of course, we would like to welcome your colleague as a new KIVI member. Please feel free to refer him/her to this webpage.

Is it possible to be a KIVI member without receiving the magazine De Ingenieur

Unfortunately this is not possible. Obviously it’s possible to quit receiving the magazine, but this doesn’t change the amount of your membership fee.

Students and members under the age of 31 only receive De Ingenieur as a digital magazine and can also receive the paper version by sending an email to ledenadministratie@kivi.nl. The costs for sending are € 17,50 per year.
