A new Symposium is starting to take shape
Right now the Symposium Committee of the Study Association S.G."William Froude" is hard at work to organize a Symposium on the 11th of March 2022. The theme of the Symposium will be "Ship and World in Harmony", as a part of the maritime sector it doesn't hurt to ask ourselves important questions from time to time. When was the last time you wondered to what extend 'our' ships influence the world and the environment around us. At the same time, it is important to view the other side. How can we best protect 'our' ships against the influences of mother nature? During the Symposium we will answer these questions by looking at a vessels entire life, from the design table (or program) to the scrapping. Or does the vessel actually need to be scrapped? As students we noticed, as you did to most likely, that subjects such as the energy transition are our main focal point these days. On the other hand, there are subjects that deserve more recognition than they receive now. We would like to know how we can contribute to a direct improvement of the harmony between ship and world today. At the end of the Symposium everyone who attended should be able to answer that question for themselves. Are you excited to find out more? Be sure to register whilst places are still available.
