Engineers put maximum efforts to improve the quality of life in our society with their invaluable knowledge and technological solutions. KIVI offers its member engineers: communities for professional fields of study, a platform for addressing societal challenges, the possibility to give direction to one’s career and a great social network. All engineering disciplines are represented within KIVI. We organize a large number of activities throughout the year and provide professional services to our members. Of course we also focus on engineers from abroad who work or study in the Netherlands. In our international community we highlight activities and topics which are of special interest for expats.

Activity in the spotlight: What are our objects telling us
If objects are taken as a language, an understanding of their structures and capacity to carry meaning becomes relevant. A comprehension of their grammar and semiotics that opens a crevice to the mechanisms lying behind the designed poetry of their physical presence. Through it we can get a glimpse to the guts of the artificial ecosystem we live within. Do we understand what our objects are telling us?
