“How a new crane extends the life of an existing Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV) and what is involved in replacing an existing crane”.

The earlier generation of WTIV’s, built around 2010, need capacity upgrades to keep up with the growing sizes of Offshore Wind Turbines. Jacking Systems and/or crane need upgrades or replacement to carry more deck load, reach higher of lift larger loads. GustoMSC as Jack-up designer, Jack-up System supplier and Crane supplier has been involved in all recent WTIV upgrade projects. In the winter season of 2023/2024 two WTIV units get their cranes replaced for 1600t cranes at the quayside of Mammoet in Schiedam, a project that is managed by GustoMSC.

GustoMSC and Mammoet will present you the activities that take place during the execution of this project. And further you will have a unique opportunity of a nice overview of the worksite from the top floor of the “Bolder”, Mammoet’s headoffice, before the presentations.

Make sure you arrive on time If you want to have a look on the vessels and worksite from the top floor of the Bolder as it gets dark quickly after 17:30!
