Omschrijving

Sound plays a big role in our everyday life. Almost everyone has had the experience of beeping, humming or rattling noises coming from equipment at home, at work or elsewhere. It can be very annoying and disturbing. However, what most people do not know is that noise pollution is the 2nd most harmful environmental factor for human beings after air pollution.

Rick Scholte CEO of Sorama and KIVI Engineer of the Year 2017 has developed a camera to observe sound and make noise more insightful. During the 2nd Friday session Rick will demonstrate the sound camera. Furthermore he will provide various angles on how to solve or reduce noise issues effectively.
Two applications of the sound cameras will be addressed:
1. The use of sound cameras for outside detection and monitoring of noise pollution in our cities.
2. The use of the sound cameras in the engineering practice of designing and engineering quieter or better sounding products. Insight is key for sound design.

Rick invites all participants to actively take part in discussing the topic, no matter what background you have.
